In the Ono district of Kanazawa, you’ll have the chance to explore another side of the city during this Private Gourmet Sushi and Shoyu Food Tour in Ono. This is an exclusive tour equipped with a private car for transportation between your hotel and Ono. A local English-speaking guide will also be there to pick you up.
In Ono, you will visit Yamato Shoyu, a renowned shoyu (soy sauce) making factory. You’ll learn everything about the production process of soy sauce and miso (fermented soybean paste) during your private tour. After that, you’ll stroll along the seaside shore of Ono, and see the unique architecture of the area and its wooden factory buildings.
Next, it’s time for a luxury sushi experience at Hosho Sushi, a local family-run restaurant that has been serving sushi for several generations. After supper, you'll stroll down to the local port to watch the evening fish auction (weather permitting), then be driven back to your hotel at 8:30.

Ono is famed for its high-quality soy sauce production and local fish market with excellent seafood, which holds a regular fish auction in the evenings. It features an Edo era wind up doll museum on its port, the Ono Karakuri Museum, while up the western slopes of Ono-machi, Hiyoshi Shrine is the town’s largest, offering a place to pray for prosperous fishing, quality soy sauce production, and the safety of trade ships.
