Tea is undoubtedly an important part of Japanese culture. It is the crucial element of the Japanese tea ceremony, a Zen practice of mindfulness, and an everyday beverage. Dive into this traditional culture when you discover four different types of Japanese tea during this Japanese Tea Tasting Experience in Fukuoka, held at a semi-private bar in Fukuoka’s Yakuin district. During this tea tasting in Fukuoka, you will taste four different types of Japanese tea. These are Matcha, Sencha, Hojicha, and Gyokuro. As you sip them, your friendly English-speaking instructors will teach you about the history of tea in Japan. You will have the chance to compare and enjoy the unique flavors of the different teas. You will also learn about the growing, harvesting, and production process of each type of tea. At this tasting, your friendly staff wear beautifully patterned Japanese kimonos and serve you in the traditionally-decorated Japanese bar. Slowly savor the tea tasting in a calming traditional atmosphere during this immersive tea experience. You will also learn about how to drink and enjoy tea, and the essential etiquette when it comes to tea culture in Japan. Guests will also have the opportunity to experience preparing their own matcha green tea. The friendly staff will explain how to whisk and drink matcha in detail. After the matcha-making experience, you can also choose your favorite seasonal Japanese sweet to accompany it from a selection of 3 different types of wagashi. You will receive a pack of green tea to take home as a souvenir, as well! Feel relaxed and right at home as you soak up the tranquil atmosphere while learning about this essential part of Japanese culture: the humble cup of tea.
