Experience Details

A half day tour that introduces you to the most important products of the area: olive oil and wine. Start your day with a relaxing walk through an endless olive grove and a beautiful vineyard to admire the natural landscape… then visit a multi-awarded winery and an olive oil mill, to find out the procedure of production and quality characteristics. Complete your gastronomic tour with a revealing olive oil tasting & wine workshop accompanied with small gourmet olive oil dishes(mezedes) and a traditional lunch!

What You’ll Experience

1.The meeting point is at the 13th century castle of Androusa, having a magnificent view at the endless olive groves of Messinia. At the castle discover an “olive treasure”, while talking about the history, the tradition and mythical stories of the area. 2. Then visit, an ancient olive grove. Enjoy your coffee next to the perennial olive trees &walk inside the olive grove towards the vineyard. 3.Next, visit the winery to witness the production of the Greek wine varieties and taste at least 3 different wines. The aromas of Greek wine varieties surprise us! 4. In the center of Androusa Village, visit a unique Olive Oil mill that has been located there for more than 120 years. Be guided to the proccedure of the extraction & storage of olive oil and find out its quality characteristics. 5.Participate in a hands on tasting and food pairing workshop by certified oil sommelier, taste diferrent olive varieties and recognize the elements that define the extra virgin olive oil. 6.The day is, full of emotions and new knowledge and we are about to enjoy a traditional light lunch with fresh vegetables and authentic flavors
