Experience Details

We are the first chocolate shop in Puerto Maldonado and we love to share our experience and our secrets of cocoa and chocolate. Learn with us to make your own chocolate bar, using our organic cocoa beans grown in our agroforestry systems, combined with other native fruit and tree species, making it a totally sustainable and environmentally friendly space.

During class, you can also see some monkeys, birds and even sloths living around our forest in Cacao Center.

We invite you to live this unique experience with us!

What You’ll Experience

Welcome to Cacao Center, located in the heart of Puerto Maldonado, is our conservation center, organic cafeteria, chocolate shop and restaurant. In our experience, try the exotic fruits fresh from our farm, including cocoa fruit! - Learn the process of transforming cocoa beans into chocolate. Roast, peel and grind your own selection of cocoa beans while learning about the secrets of fine artisan chocolate and rich cultural history. Refining your chocolate in our special cocoa grinder and witnessing the texture transform. While you wait for your cocoa to harden, make and enjoy pisco sours with us! We will also try several chocolates from our own home. Finally, go home with your own DIY chocolate bar and a whole new perspective on cocoa, most importantly, the relationship between cocoa and conservation, and how to use your drinking option to change the chocolate world with us one bar at a time. Other things to keep in mind: Please let us know your language and dietary restrictions in advance, so we can adapt. Thank you!
