Ruka Reindeer Feeding with Sleigh Ride and Fireside Delicacies

Join us for an unforgettable morning at a traditional reindeer farm in the heart of Finnish Lapland. Your adventure begins with the magical moment of feeding hundreds of reindeer their morning treat – lichen – as you walk among them, take stunning photos, and connect with these gentle Arctic animals. Then, hop aboard a cozy sleigh covered in warm reindeer hides for a 1.5 km sleigh ride through a beautiful riverside trail and snow-covered forest. It's a peaceful journey through nature, just like in the old days. After the ride, warm up in a traditional Finnish Kota (Lappish hut) where we'll serve hot drinks brewed over open fire, local delicacies, and grilled sausage. As you relax by the fire, you'll hear stories about the life of a reindeer herder, the seasons of the reindeer, and our connection to nature. Finally, explore our handicraft workshop and farm shop, where you’ll find authentic souvenirs made by local artisans.
