Scary Naples: Food, Blood and Prayers. A foodies experience with a scary side

We will embark on an enlightening journey through the oldest district of the city, Our "Scary" food tour will commence at the magnificent Cathedral, known as the “Duomo”, where the miraculous blood of San Gennaro, the Patron Saint of Napoli, is preserved. During our walk, we will encounter several “Edicole Votive” (small “Urban Shrines”), which serve as exquisite expressions of popular devotion. We will visit the remarkable church of the Gesù Nuovo, renowned for its "Bugne", a distinctive diamond-shaped facade adorned with enigmatic Aramaic symbols. Throughout our exploration, we will delve into the significance of popular "amulets" such as the "Corno", a red chili, discuss the legends about the "Munaciello" as well as the "Bella 'Mbriana". Our experience extends beyond rituals, blood, skulls, and prayers, as we venture into the Historical Center. Here, we will indulge in one of the finest “Pizza Fritta” in Napoli, a deep-fried calzone. We will taste the famous "Taralli di Leopoldo", with a Spritz continuing with the "Pizzetta and Parigina di Moccia", another Neapolitan institution, famous among locals.
