This Shiogama Sake Tasting with Sushi Pairing starts off with a walking tour, exploring the ancient grounds of Shiogama Shrine overlooking the city. Learn about the history of this Shinto shrine (established over 1200 years ago) and the city of Shiogama from a local guide. Next, you’ll listen to an in-depth lecture on sake appreciation in English, learning about the history and culture of local sake, including its deep connection to the local shrine (40 minutes). Once you’ve become a sake expert, you’ll head to a local sake brewery for some sake tasting and souvenir shopping for some delicious sake. Finally, you’ll enjoy a sushi lunch, pairing delicious Shiogama sake with different types of sushi.
