The Do Eat Better Experience food tour is a walking tour around the historical center of the city. The tourist is guided by a "Foodie", a local "buddy" able to explain every detail of the selected restaurants, their preparations, and the relevant history/curiosities.


Do Eat Better Experience tours are a mix of high-quality gastronomy as a way for showing Italian culture and lifestyle and a walking experience together with a local friend. This is the reason why we accept small groups only: we want to focus on a genuine exchange and give to each tourist the highest attention possible.

During our gastronomic tours in Genoa, you can taste some of the iconic dishes of this magnificent city. Choosing the traditional tour you will discover the dishes that have made the history of the city such as the famous pasta al pesto, cheese focaccia and much more, in a tour with at least 4 stops between typical restaurants and historic take-away restaurants. Our street food tour will take you instead to the discovery of the most famous street food in the city, from the famous focaccia to the delicious fried fish cone. On the other hand, with the gourmet food tour you will discover traditional dishes in a gourmet key, in historical places but also in the most modern city bistros, discovering the Genoese culinary innovation.

Chiesa di San Pietro in Banchi (Pass By)

You will star the tour with one of the most famous dishes of Genoa, Pasta with pesto: classic basil Pesto sauce was born in Genoa. You will have the chance to taste the authentic recipe made of local fresh basil and pine nuts!

Cattedrale di San Lorenzo - Duomo di Genova (Pass By)

You can't visit Genoa without tasting typical Savoury pies: there are thousands of pies in the world, but come taste our best ones into an old Sciamadda (a typical "takeaway" from the beginning of 20thCentury). You will try also the unforgettable Focaccia with cheese: 2 very thin layers of dough filled with "Stracchino", (a typical soft cheese from Recco, a small village next to Genoa).

Piazza delle Erbe (Pass By)

Genoa is a harbour city with traditional seafood-based cuisine, so it's a must try! Fried squids - Our tender fried squids will melt in your mouth! Stockfish - cooked with pine nuts, potatoes and "Taggiasca" olives, a special recipe from Genoa! Anchovies - freshly fished, traditionally one of the most famous fish of our Seas.

Piazza Raffaele De Ferrari (Pass By)

At the end you will try the typical Frisceu: small fried pancake with vegetables. Best for entrees and appetizers. Finally delicious Artisan ice cream in a gourmet ice cream shop, and Espresso.
