Discover three very different and exciting historic markets on your guided walk through the buzzing East End. Get behind-the-scenes and meet the makers in the legendary,1000-year-old Borough Market, a foodie haven at the cutting edge of what to eat in London. Take in the architectural elegance and grown-up atmosphere of Leadenhall Market, in London’s Square Mile, and hear about its Roman origins and links to the one-time mayor extraordinaire, Dick Whittington. Wind through Jack the Ripper's hunting ground. See street names in Bengali and chapels converted into mosques, alongside conservation areas of Georgian houses, and an English Baroque architectural masterpiece, in this playground for contemporary artists.


Ignite your taste buds in an authentic Brick Lane restaurant, the most famous curry location in London. Tuck into a tasting menu of different home cooked Bengali dishes delicately flavoured with fragrant spices.

The Globe Theatre was a theatre in London associated with William Shakespeare. It was built in 1599. Ther modern version of the theatre was built by Sam Wanamaker and hosts regular plays in an open air environment

Tate Modern (Pass By)

After sharing the Millbank site with Tate Britain for many decades, since 2000 Tate Modern has occupied the converted former Bankside Power Station. This was originally designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, the architect of Battersea Power Station, and built in two stages between 1947 and 1963. It is directly across the river from St Paul's Cathedral. The power station closed in 1981

HMS Belfast (Pass By)

This warship served the UK in the 2nd world war and is now a museum open to the public. Most of the desks are preserved and it has survived fires and damage over the years. We will see a genuine example of Britains War Power when it had the largest fleet in the world
