Established in 1903, Estate Argyros is the oldest operating winery on the island, with the Argyros family involved in viticulture since the 18th century. The estate's vineyards are among the oldest in the world, with an average vine age exceeding 70 years and some vines over two centuries old. The vineyards are cultivated organically, without pesticides, and are not irrigated. Estate Argyros offers immersive wine tasting experiences that showcase the island's indigenous grape varieties. The tour includes a guided walk through the vineyards, a visit to the production area, and a tasting of six different wines paired with local cheeses, cold cuts, and regional specialties. This 60-minute session is led by a knowledgeable wine educator who provides insights into the art of wine pairing and the unique characteristics of Santorini's wines.
