What You’ll Experience

Xi'an Bell Tower (Pass By)

The Bell Tower is one of the most famous landmarks in Xi’an, located in the heart of the city. Built in 1384 during the Ming Dynasty, it was used to tell time and served as a symbol of the city. The tower is a beautiful example of traditional Chinese architecture, with a wooden structure, green glazed tiles, and a golden rooftop. From the top, visitors can enjoy a great view of the old city and its busy streets.

Drum Tower (Gulou) (Pass By)

Located in the heart of Xi’an’s old city, the Drum Tower was originally built in 1380 during the Ming Dynasty. It got its name from the large drum that was used to tell time and signal important events. Together with the nearby Bell Tower, it once played a vital role in the city’s timekeeping system. Today, the Drum Tower is a famous historical landmark. Visitors can admire its traditional architecture, see ancient drums on display, and enjoy live drum performances. From the top, you can also enjoy a great view of the bustling Muslim Quarter and surrounding city streets.

Muslim Quarter

Located in the heart of Xi’an, the Muslim Quarter is a lively and colorful street famous for its delicious street food and rich cultural atmosphere. It’s home to the city’s Hui ethnic minority, who have lived here for centuries. As you walk through the narrow alleys, you’ll find sizzling skewers, hand-pulled noodles, crispy beef pancakes, and the famous Xi’an lamb soup. The area is also great for shopping local snacks, handmade souvenirs, and experiencing traditional Muslim culture. Whether you’re a foodie or a culture lover, the Muslim Quarter is a must-visit when in Xi’an!

Great Mosque of Xi'an (Pass By)

Tucked away in the bustling Muslim Quarter of Xi’an, the Great Mosque of Xi’an is one of the oldest and most famous mosques in China. Built in the 8th century during the Tang Dynasty, it beautifully blends traditional Chinese architecture with Islamic elements. Unlike typical Middle Eastern mosques with domes and minarets, this mosque features classic Chinese rooftops, wooden pavilions, and peaceful courtyards. It’s still an active place of worship for the local Hui Muslim community.

Xi'an City Wall (Chengqiang) (Pass By)

The Xi’an City Wall is one of the oldest and best-preserved city walls in China. Originally built in the 14th century during the Ming Dynasty, it was constructed on the foundations of the Tang Dynasty city walls. The wall is about 13.7 kilometers (8.5 miles) long and forms a complete rectangle around the ancient city center. It is wide enough to walk, cycle, or even ride a small electric cart on top.
