The best meal we had in Japan. Incredibly well thought-out and perfectly prepared dishes that were balanced and delicious from start to finish. The staff were so accommodating and kind, using google translate to pass on their knowledge and interact with us. A traditional dining experience that I will never forget.

This was hands down the best meal we have had in our lives. We couldn't have asked for a better introduction to Kyoto Kaiseki cuisine. The restaurant is family run by a warm and gracious couple, and each course is a piece of art that delights both the eyes and the senses. We had Omakase today . Great service . Everyone is very nice . Fish and crab meat are fresh . Sushi chef is very nice and interactive with us . He explained every piece served to us which made Omakase experience more enjoyable. We had wonderful time . Gexin

Had a lovely time at Kyo Sushi Ookini, with the lovely head chef and his staff. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious and impeccably crafted. If ever in Kyoto, I highly recommend stopping by - I know I would again!

The best dinner we have had in Japan! The staff treated us with so much care. Tsutomu-san even talked in English with us all the time (we are from Brazil). The food was amazing, and the chef delivered a masterful course. I can't recommend it enough!
