Every detail—from the origin of the leaves to the subtle differences in processing methods—was explained with such clarity and passion that it transformed each sip into a story. You could tell this wasn’t just expertise; it was a genuine love for the craft. The tea itself was absolutely exquisite. Each variety we sampled was more nuanced and flavorful than the last, with layers of aroma and taste I had never noticed before. The experience was paired with a thoughtfully prepared selection of food that complemented the teas beautifully. Every bite felt intentional, enhancing the tasting experience and making the whole session feel indulgent without being overwhelming. What surprised me most was just how fun it all was. This wasn’t a stiff or overly formal class—it was engaging, interactive, and filled with moments of delight and discovery. We laughed, asked questions, compared favorites, and left feeling not only more knowledgeable but genuinely inspired. All in all, this private tea tasting was an unforgettable experience and such a unique, enjoyable way to explore the world of tea. Our cooking class and tea ceremony with chef Katuzi was amazing. He was very professional and entertaining. We learnt some great skills in sushi making and made great ramen. All Ingredients were fresh Chef”s assistant Kumiko was very friendly and helpful. She took photos throughout the class and then sent them to us before we left. This was an awesome hangout with Hiro! My man knows a lot about the history. Walking through Gion District in the evening was such a cool experience. The architecture was soooo beautiful. This place requires a full day of discovery! Hiro was nice enough to bring his professional camera! Took very good pictures of us. Hiro went out of his way beyond just being a 'tour guide'. Hope to hook up with Hiro again on our next visit!

My family really enjoyed this dining experience last night! Marimo sent us the menu in advance for our input and then during dinner explained the background behind each dish, which was very educational. She also took into account my dietary restriction. It felt very comfortable to eat in Marimo’s home rather than another restaurant, and even walking through the neighborhood was a part of Tokyo we had not seen. Highly recommend!

We had amazing time, the hosts created very cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The master class was very insightful with techniques and tips for creating truly beautiful sushi and shirashi. Everything was delicious. We loved every minute of the experience, many thanks to all our lovely hosts for making this experience unforgettable!

It was a very welcoming and great experience in modern, and yet with Japanese style home of the shef. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the enthusiasm of the host, as well as enjoyed learning how to prepare sushi, ramen and the traditional tea ceremony. He took in the consideration our taste and food preferences. It was a wonderful experience!

This was the best experience I’ve ever had while traveling to many countries, Katsuji was very kind and welcoming. They were able to accommodate our dietary restrictions as well which we were very happy about. We absolutely loved every moment of this experience with Katsuji. The day began with a peaceful Japanese tea ceremony, where Katsuji guided us through the art of preparing and enjoying matcha. It was such a calming and authentic introduction to Japanese culture. Next, we dove into making sushi and ramen from scratch. Katsuji’s 38+ years of expertise truly shone as he shared insider tips and made the process fun and easy to follow. My knife cuts improved, but Katsuji was so patient and gracious! As a special touch, Katsuji gifted us beautiful calligraphy art as a souvenir, making the experience even more memorable. Held in his clean, welcoming home, this class felt personal and genuine. Katsuji’s warmth and knowledge made it truly exceptional. 10/10 – Highly recommend for an unforgettable cultural and culinary adventure!

Great experience. We loved it . Nice people . We made very beautiful sushi plate together. Communication in English was a bit difficult and had to use phone up however upfront we did mention our primary language is English.
