We were seated right at the teppanyaki counter, directly in front of the grill. The room holds only a handful of seats, which makes the whole evening feel private and unhurried. The chef is warm and easy to talk to, the ingredients are clearly high quality, and every dish was delicious. A memorable evening from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Chef Makoto gave us a truly memorable evening at Teppanyaki Mitaki Akasaka. We came through a byFood reservation, and from the first course to the last, the quality of his ingredients and the skill in how he handled them made for a meal that was both delicious and remarkably well balanced. An unassuming entrance that is genuinely hard to find, but a warm welcome the moment you step inside. Chef Makoto's technique and timing were remarkable throughout. The sesame tofu converted me on a dish I usually skip, and the Daisen chicken soup was outstanding, with real depth and a lovely thyme aroma. The tasting menu flowed beautifully from course to course, and the chef walked us through each local ingredient before it hit the plate. Good soft drink options too. Overall a very nice meal. The broth and steak were delicious. Each ingredient was described noting origin, seasonality, and why each one was used. The server and chef were descriptive and welcoming. We appreciated the personalised messages, especially the one at the end of the meal regarding the Typhoon.

I took my husband here for his birthday dinner, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The space was small and intimate, the staff was kind and attentive, and every course was beautifully prepared and thoughtfully presented. The Wagyu was the best steak I have ever had. It melted in our mouths like butter. Expensive, but absolutely worth it. I would definitely recommend and would love to come back again.

Phenomenal food and excellent presentation. Service was also wonderful and staff was very friendly. Great spot for a business meal or quiet romantic dinner.

Overall good experience. The location is in the heart of Shinjuku making it very easy to get to via metro. The vibe inside is a 180 from the neighborhood as it is very laidback and cozy. The staff is super attentive and friendly. There was a nice variety of dishes and the courses were paced out very well. Never did I feel like I was being rushed or waiting between courses. The meal is very rich and filling so come with an appetite.
