A truly memorable dinner! The course is themed around the history of life on Earth, so each dish is named after a different era, like the “birth of the ocean” or “fluorishing of mammals. The theme carries through everything, down to the cutlery and how each plate is served. The food mixes Latin flavors with Japanese ingredients like mochi, which isn’t a combination you come across often in Japan. My favorite part was the textures. Each dish felt different, and I never quite knew what to expect next. It’s dark and cozy inside, but the lighting makes the food stand out even more. The staff explained the idea behind each dish in English, which helped me appreciate what I was eating. One thing to know: portions are on the small side, so if you have a big appetite, you might not leave completely full. A good pick for a birthday, anniversary, or special night out, or if you just want to try something different in Ginza.

"I've been to a lot of restaurants with course menus, but this was unlike anything I've experienced before. It was a true culinary journey as well as a journey through time! Every dish was beautifully presented, incredibly flavorful, and full of interesting combinations of ingredients and textures. You could definitely taste the South American influences, which made the experience even more unique. One of my favorite courses was The Flourishing of Mammals — Primates, which featured mochi and had such a lovely combination of textures and wonderful flavors. I also really enjoyed the main course. Even the cutlery rests were interesting, including one made from bones! The dessert was perfectly balanced and not too sweet, which was a lovely way to finish the meal. Overall, it was a really creative and memorable dining experience, with surprising flavors and thoughtful details throughout."

Lovely, intimate sushi spot where I had dinner on my second night in Kyoto. The courses were delicious and beautifully presented. The staff was so kind. Thank you so much for the wonderful memories that I will take back to NYC 🩷

We had a lovely evening with Taisho Nakatani and Mrs. Nakatani. My wife and I were lucky enough to have a private seating as the only guests for our anniversary. The intamite setting allowed us to learn about the couple’s relationship, they are a very cute and humorous husband-wife duo running the show. Watching Nakatani-san’s precision and execution was a unique The courses Were a work of art And tasted delicious also. Afterwards Mrs. Nakatani went above and beyond by escorting us through the rainy Osaka streets to a local taiyakishop and purchased us far too many taiyaki for dessert. My wife really loved our evening at Sushidokoro Nakatani, and that means everything to me. 10/10, we will be back next time we are in Osaka

We had a fantastic dinner at this restaurant. It’s worth every penny. The chefs discipline and mastery is impressive and the quality of the food and its preparation is in-maculate. His wife is also amazing. We ended up having a great conversation with them about our home country in Costa Rica and we even took some pictures together. Loved the experience, venue and of course the food. Will recommend it a thousand times times!

My daughter is vegetarian and being able to have such an elegant, authentic meal in Tokyo without worrying about what she could eat was wonderful! Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and delicious.

They accommodated my pescatarian request beautifully. A wonderful fusion of Latin American and Japanese cuisine, with each dish carefully narrated by the staff, which made the experience even better. The interior is very sophisticated. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a gastronomy or fusion experience in Tokyo.
