We had a wonderful time and experience at Sakura san’s class. The class was very well organised and structured. Our nine year old is very shy and Sakura san approached her with patience and after a while she felt comfortable.

I loved my experience with Yuko-San. She was a very sweet lady who wants to make sure you get the best experience possible.
The cooking was pretty fast paced but it's because she wants you to have the time slow down and enjoy the sweets you made while drinking a cup of tea and chatting with her. She is interested in you and wants to know about your story.
If you learn Japanese before booking this class, you will gain even more from this experience since you will able to connect with her even more.
I truly think she makes the experience worth it. It is much better than a step by step Youtube video. It felt more personal.

My sisters, cousin, and I took the mochi sweets class with Sakura san. It was an absolutely amazing experience! Sakura san is an exceptional teacher and we learned so much from her. Her step by step lesson was perfect and I am excited to bring home everything I have learned. The different types of mochi were delicious. She even gave a lesson on the history of mochi. I am so grateful for this course and I highly recommend it for everyone. It was a great experience making a cultural dish. Thank you so much Sakura san!

We had such an exceptional experience! A sincere thank you to our host, Kaoru, who thought through every detail end-to-end to ensure a seamless experience. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it - not only the fantastic mochi lesson, but most importantly her company and the time she took to explain mochi's significance in the Japanese culture. This made such a great memory for our trip that our family will cherish for a lifetime. We will book another lesson with Kaoru the next time we are in Tokyo for sure. Thank you again! ❤️

We had the most enjoyable time learning how to make Japanese desserts. The instructor was so caring, genuine and welcoming. I went with my 9 and 13 year old daughters and they told me that this was the best part of our Japan trip 😊 Additionally, the neighborhood where the class takes place has lot of wonderful restaurants and bars and coffee shops. I highly recommend exploring before or after the class.

Yuko is a really nice and amazing teacher. She welcomed me with tea and gave me great information about Japanese sweets culture. Her instructions were clear and I got the recipes to take home. Really really loved this workshop and the results.

A great and unique experience. We love how Ms Sakura made it fun and very instructive for the whole family. My kids fell in love with mochi and dango straight away after this class. We will be back for a different class with Ms Sakura.

L'atelier était animé par Sakura avec beaucoup de gentillesse et pédagogie. J'ai non seulement appris à confectionner plusieurs types de mochi, mais aussi appris qu'elle est leur place dans la culture japonaise. En amont de l'atelier, j'ai reçu toutes les informations nécessaires pour trouver le lieu. Globalement, cette expérience a dépassé mes attentes. Je recommande vivement :)

I highly recommend Sakura's mochi making class. I went with my 12 year old son. We had clear instructions to get to her home from the subway. In class, we learnt about cultural background to Mochi, and the times of year it's made for different festivals. Then, step by step, we made three kinds of mochi. It was very hands on, with clear instructions and encouragement by Sakura. The mochi we made was delicious (it's all in the recipe!!) and we felt confident to make it at home again too. Sakura's kitchen is a big, lovely, light-filled space with views of the trees and temple across the road - it's a very nice space to learn in. A definite highlight of our trip. Sakura took many photos and videos and sent them to us too. Book this class!! You won't regret it!

This was an absolutely wonderful experience with Sakura! She is a a fantastic teacher and host. She provided insights into the history and significance of mochi in Japanese history and culture with a very well prepared presentation. Then we made delicious mochi with an easy to understand method. We had a great time and we will enjoy making mochi when we get home. This was so much fun!!!

Sakura-san was an exceptional theatre, and Choco-chan was an exceptional assistant!
Sakura-san was patient with us newbies, explained well, and taught us the history behind mochi making.
I would recommend this class to anyone interested in learning more about Japan and their holidays and traditions.
Fair warning: after making mochi with Sakura-san, any mochi you will buy, will be a pale imitation!
