Good to Know

Experience a wine tasting in Crete, the island with more than 3500 years of tradition in wine. We are professionals in the field of wine since 1998 and we truly love what we do. Our team consists of a sommelier, chef & wine maker. Visit our 600 year old stone wine cellar, a unique space that was part of an old 15th century Dominican Monastery. With this experience you will taste some of the finest wines form Greek vineyards, combined with local cheeses and delicacies. Each participant will receive a personalized folder with general information on Greek wines (with a focus on the history of Greek wine). The wines will be presented with detail by our Sommelier, with an emphasis on their individual characteristics. You will taste a variety of wines, accompanied by snacks , and you will get to visit our 15th – century stone build cellar. Snacks include: viriety of rusks & breadsticks, green apple, tomato, viriety of local cheeses & Apaki (smocked pork slices cooked with vinsanto wine)

Are you wine lovers? Do you want to experience a wine tasting of local wines by professionals? On the ground floor of Veneto, you can visit our 600-year-old stone cellar. The atmosphere is unique, and imposing and blends the smell of wine with the stone and water of the well located in the cellar. Sign up and enjoy one of our wine packages offered. Veneto Restaurant has been organizing thematic exhibitions since 1997, in groups of 2, 3 to 5, and 6 to 20 persons, with the aim of informing on the evolution of Greek and in particular Cretan wine.

Highly recommend

Maria was absolutely amazing!!! This was the first wine tasting we had done and what a great place to do it. Maria was incredibly knowledgable, took her time explaining the different wines and so friendly! Would highly recommend and great value for money.

Great experience!!

Maria was an excellent host and she was super educational. She taught us so much. I don’t drink a lot of wine but the class was still so much fun and an amazing experience. I was hesitant to do it because of the lack of knowledge I have wine and how little I drink of it, but I don’t have a single regret about it! I would do it again!! Beautiful atmosphere and amazing wines

The atmosphere is amazing. Maria did an amazing job showing us the ropes on how to properly assess and taste our wine. They gave us a wide variety of wines with each having its own distinct taste. We also paired our wine with cheeses from Crete. The pairings and wines were delicious. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in wine tasting.
