Austin Lane, West Lane and other areas: an unexpected surprise when wandering Darwin's city streets is the murals that adorn the walls of our laneways. Since 2017, the Darwin Street Art Festival has brought vibrancy and colour to the city's walls, with international, national and local artists contributing to the large-scale art gallery. We’ll have photo opportunities in Darwin's celebrated Austin Lane, home to giant street art paintings.

The Old Town Hall

On Christmas Eve 1974, after almost a century enduring tropical conditions and 64 air raids during World War II, Darwin's Town Hall literally started crumbling during Cyclone Tracy. The heritage building—erected 14 years after European settlers arrived in the region in 1869—was damaged beyond repair by the natural disaster, as was much of the city. Some of our tours will have photo opportunities at this heritage-listed site, a testament to the destructive power of the cyclone that destroyed much of Darwin.

Darwin Waterfront Precinct

This is a great place to find gourmet food and drink, not to mention that it’s set on a beautiful lagoon on Darwin Harbour. Our tour is constantly changing and we feature different establishments on different days of the week. Do not miss this tour! Fantastic food and great look at excellent street murals.

Stupendous tour. Guides, Kathy and Claire, were very careful to accommodate our mobility issues. Good bit of walking (city sidewalks) at the start of the tour to see the amazing street murals around Darwin. There was so much delicious food! Ate at three separate spots and were provided with a wide variety of dishes, including special dish at Charley's for diner who doesn't eat food cooked with alcohol. Perfect introduction to Darwin

What a great introduction to Darwin! I did this within a few hours of landing, and it was the perfect way to learn about the city. So much food at all 3 restaurants and all excellent. I went back to one, but sadly ran out of time to revisit the other two. The street art component was fascinating, too. Yvonne was a great, enthusiastic host. If you can, I'd recommend going towards the start of your visit, so you can pick her/the guide's brain on what to do, try, and eat in Darwin.

Great Food Tour

Went on the tour with John, great host for the night. We went to 3 restaurants sampled various foods including croc, seafood and Vietnamese. The share plates were enough food for us all and the restaurants were all great. In the middle did a tour of the amazing street art around the lanes of Darwin. A great experience which is recommended to do .

A Full Belly and Vibrant Views: Street Art and Dining in Darwin

Johnno, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and it was great seeing all the interactive street art. The 3 restaurants we went to were all superb. So much food, we couldn't finish it all! Highly recommend this tour if you love to eat and love some funky artwork.
