+10 photosWe got a tour from the owners! Very interesting to see the farm and the bakery, learn about the history of Hawaiian - German - Japanese relations and try the cakes! This is definitely a unique experience on the island!
The tour was very educational and the tasting was great. A nice taste and view of history in a beautiful setting.
Lovely tour, very relaxed. We learned lots of interesting things about the property and the plants grown there. The baumkuchen process was explained and we tasted several flavors of baumkuchen. They sell the cakes as well as some Hawaiian salts and rubs. We were invited to remain and enjoy the property...they had a lovely picnic area.

It was beautiful and so interesting! We learned a lot about how to grow vanilla beans and all that entails. Our family loved it!!!
What a delightful experience! Learning about the history of the baumkuchen “tree cake” and how it is made on this farm and the unique Hawaiian flavors was interesting. Seeing the farm and the other things they are growing and then tasting baumkuchen samples finishes off the free tour nicely. But if you really want a nice afternoon, plan carefully so that you can do a free tour at 1:00 and book a paid baumstriezel experience at 2:30.
