Tired of cookie-cutter cooking classes? Led by Dana with 15 years of hotel industry expertise, our private courtyard café offers a premium dual cultural experience: handmade dumpling cooking workshop + optional Chinese mahjong lesson. You’ll learn to fold perfect traditional dumplings and cook classic dishes like Kung Pao Chicken, Yangzhou Fried Rice and chili oil noodles. Our professional head chef (my husband) customizes menus for Sichuan, Cantonese or regional flavors. After cooking, you can stay to learn the rules and fun gameplay of authentic Chinese mahjong.

Meals

1 meal (lunch or dinner), dumplings, other Chinese dishes, tea, and dessert.

Discounted price available for groups of 2+. Near Qingnianhu Park, our warm courtyard café Yuan Li Kong Jian(院里空间)with private rooms welcomes you for a relaxing Beijing cultural experience. We offer three wonderful experiences for you to choose from. Join our handmade dumpling class: our bilingual instructor will guide you to fold dumplings from scratch. Taste our signature numbing-spicy dipping sauce and authentic local food. Or take our fun Mahjong lesson, and learn the basic rules of this beloved traditional Chinese game step by step. You can also enjoy our coffee workshop to know more about freshly brewed coffee. After the activity, sit back and unwind in our quiet little courtyard. Sip coffee and taste homemade desserts. We host small group meals and private dining. If you have special requests for your private event, feel free to contact us in advance.

Cooking class - excellent experience

Great experience. Taught how to make the dough from scratch. The chef Kevin is amazing and the whole team couldn’t do enough to create a warm helpful experience! The cafe is so cute and very clean. Definitely recommend.

Learn authentic Chinese cooking in a fun, friendly, and cultural way

I highly recommend Dana’s cooking class to anyone interested in making traditional Chinese food at home. The class is fun, well-organized, and very beginner-friendly. Dana explains each step clearly and shares not only cooking techniques, but also the culture and stories behind the dishes. It is a wonderful experience for anyone who loves Chinese food.
