What You’ll Experience

A Memorable Tea Ceremony Experience in a Courtyard House Located just 3 kilometers from the Forbidden City, in the heart of Beijing’s ancient hutongs, this area was once where generations of scholars came to take the imperial examination — a crucial step toward entering the highest levels of government in ancient China. Inside a charming teahouse transformed from a traditional courtyard house, you will experience an authentic Chinese tea ceremony. The tea master will demonstrate the delicate art of tea preparation: washing the tea leaves, warming the cups, and pouring the tea with grace and precision. You will also learn fascinating stories about the history and culture of tea in China, from its origins as a medicinal beverage to its role in social and business interactions. One of the highlights of this experience is discovering different types of tea and their unique characteristics. You will taste at least five different teas.
