Budapest rewards the curious eater. On this small-group walking tour through the city center, you'll move from a breezy Danube-side square with views across to the Buda hills into narrow streets, covered passages, and family-run dining rooms that have been feeding this city for generations.
Along the way: taste Hungary's iconic deep-fried street food fresh from the fryer, smoked sausage seasoned with paprika, goulash ladled out with pride, and a sparkling grape must that tastes like the Hungarian harvest in a glass.
If you're joining in the morning, the tour winds up on grand Andrássy Avenue before finishing with a flaky, buttery strudel. Afternoon guests go further into the heart of the Jewish Quarter and one of Budapest's most storied courtyard passages, ending with a creative Hungarian dessert reinvented for the modern table.
