Unveil the art of sabrage in a delightful workshop at Le Clos Corbier, where you'll learn to open a bottle of Champagne with a saber. Guided by a passionate expert, dive into the rich history of this tradition that dates back to the Napoleonic era. Following a detailed introduction to the techniques and safety measures, you'll have the chance to sabre a bottle of either the exquisite Champagne Collard-Milesi or the Champagne Domaine Méa. The experience culminates in a tasting of your Champagne, paired with delicious gougères prepared by the chef, making it a perfect blend of celebration and camaraderie in the heart of Champagne.
Use of sabrage sword and safety equipment
Your experience begins with a short introduction to the history of Le Clos Corbier, followed by fascinating anecdotes about Champagne sabrage and its origins during the Napoleonic era.
You will then learn the proper sabrage technique, including safety rules and expert tips to perform this iconic gesture with confidence.
Each participant will sabre their own bottle of Champagne from Collard-Milesi or Domaine Méa under guidance.
The experience concludes with a convivial tasting of the Champagne you have opened, served with traditional gougères.
