Experience Details

Experience centuries of Belgian craftsmanship with this small-group tasting that combines two iconic Belgian products: chocolate & jenever. Indulge in five delicious pairings while gaining insights into these craft products and the artisans behind them.

Belgium is renowned for its craft foods and drinks, but have you tried jenever? Less known than Belgian beer, jenever remains a hidden gem. Though it’s the Belgian ancestor of gin, this unique drink can even resemble whiskey when aged. This tasting introduces you to five local jenevers, including a 10-year-aged jenever. We’ve paired them with chocolates from different chocolatiers across Belgium: a great opportunity to explore various styles of Belgian chocolate in a short time span.

About us: our shop offers unique chocolate experiences, where quality is at its heart. We like to fully immerse you in the world of chocolate. In our shop you find artisanal chocolate from 4 different top Belgian chocolatiers.

What You Get

- water
- 6 artisanal chocolates from different exclusive chocolate makers
- 4 local jenevers ( including a 10-year aged jenever) + 1 jenever product

What You’ll Experience

A small-group tasting maximum of 6 people in the historical heart of Ghent. The tasting takes place at the Chocolade Ambassade, a chocolate shop just around the corner from Gravensteen Castle, within the authentic setting of a Flemish “stairhouse” from the 16th century. This location makes it easy to combine the tasting with a day of sightseeing. -Savour carefully selected high-quality chocolates and jenevers. -One of the two founders of the Chocolade Ambassade will personally lead the tasting, sharing insights into the craftsmanship behind chocolate and jenever with engaging facts and personal stories. -After the tasting, you can purchase some chocolates if you wish to do so. We can also provide recommendations for where to buy jenever and offer suggestions for other food and craft products in Ghent.
