A unique experience for those who really enjoy savoring traditional food and especially getting involved in food preparation and learning techniques. The food is made in a wood-fired oven made of lava stones, similar to our ancestors and that gives an unmistakable flavor. Besides the food, the drink is always present and I give tips on the best wines and we talk above all about what characterizes us as islanders in the middle of this immense ocean. We speak English and Spanish and then the wine speaks for itself. Come prepared to get your hands dirty and make your delicious bread and get involved in food preparation You can ask for the opening date in the calendar

Dinner with the locals

We had a wonderful evening with Hugo and Rosa and meeting new friends for an amazing home cooked alcatra. They kept the drinks flowing and there was non stop great conversation about our families, the Island history, music, and food. We felt immediately comfortable and welcome and it was the best meal we had on Terceira. Book this off the beaten path night, enjoy the local feel and make new friends. Highly recommend!

Amazing food, outstanding hosts

What an absolute gem of an experience. We had a fantastic time meeting Hugo, Rosa and their lovely children. They shared a delicious dinner of alcatra (local beef stew) that had been cooking in a wood-fired oven for 24 hours, as well as fresh-baked bread and traditional Dona Amélia tarts. Best of all though was just spending time with this warm, welcoming family, chatting to them about their lives and backgrounds, finding commonalities and laughing together. Dining expérience with local family

Very nice expérience ! Meeting nice family! We enjoyed learning about local culture and history ! Ugo and Rosa are passionnate! And Laura ans Augusto very kind! The food was amazing, all local products! Ending the evening with 90's Rock music! Live Pearl Jam and Sound Garden !

Delicious and fun encounter

We had a wonderful dining experience Hugo and his family. The meal was delicious and authentic and typically Azorean. We had a great night learning about Terceira and sharing music tastes. It was a wonderful experience that I truly recommend.
