After a one-hour drive through the largest hop-growing area, we reach Kelheim in Lower Bavaria, right at the confluence of the Danube and Altmühl rivers. During a short stroll through the historic old town, you can take a little refreshment at the Schneider Weisse brewery restaurant. Due to the war, the traditional wheat beer brewery was relocated from Munich to the Danube. The end of the spectacular cruise is Weltenburg Abbey with its breathtaking baroque abbey church of the Asam brothers and the oldest abbey brewery in the world! Prunn Castle
Optional: Like the ideal image of a knight's castle, Prunn Castle stands on an almost vertical Jura rock high above the Altmühl. The views from there of the surrounding landscape of the Altmühltal are absolutely impressive.
