Prison Island - Changuu Private Island

the Prison Island will take 3 hours including Boat A prison island is an island that is used as a location for a prison or correctional facility. Prison islands have been used throughout history to incarcerate individuals who have been convicted of crimes, and they continue to be used in many countries today. One of the main attractions on Prison Island is the giant tortoise sanctuary, which is home to over 100 giant Aldabra tortoises. These tortoises are some of the oldest living creatures on earth, with some estimated to be over 100 years old. Visitors can feed and interact with the tortoises, and learn about their history and conservation efforts. Other notable landmarks on the island include the ruins of an old prison, which was never actually used to house prisoners, and a small chapel built by the first owner of the island, Sultan Said Majid. visitors can take a short boat ride from Stone Town, The island is open to visitors year-round

Stone Town

Stone Town is a historic town located on the west coast of Zanzibar Island, which is part of the Zanzibar archipelago in Tanzania. The town is known for its unique mix of African, Arab, and Indian cultures, as well as its well-preserved architecture, which reflects its history as a center of the East African slave trade and a hub of commerce and culture. Other notable landmarks in Stone Town include the Old Fort, a 17th-century fortification that now hosts cultural events and exhibitions, and the Forodhani Gardens, a waterfront park known for its nightly street food market. Visitors to Stone Town can also explore the town's many mosques, churches, and temples, or take a stroll along the seafront and watch the traditional dhow boats sail by. The town is also a popular starting point for exploring the rest of Zanzibar Island, which is known for its pristine beaches, coral reefs, and rich cultural heritage.
