Step into the peaceful countryside of La Chu Village and experience a day in the life of a local farmer. Put on traditional farming clothes and join villagers in planting, watering, or harvesting seasonal vegetables - all grown naturally without chemicals. Listen to the stories behind each crop and ingredient that make Hue cuisine so unique. Then, return to a cozy local home to learn how to make authentic Hue dishes: Beef Noodle Soup (Bun Bo Hue), Fried Spring Rolls (Nem Ran) and Flat Shrimp And Pork Dumpling Cake (Banh Nam), then enjoy lunch in local house. More than just a tour, this is a heartfelt cultural experience - a chance to slow down, connect with local people, and feel the harmony between Hue’s nature, food, and way of life.

Begin your journey with a scenic drive through Hue city. Along the way, you can visit the Trang Tien Bridge, an iconic landmark where you can admire the Perfume River and capture memorable photos - a perfect start to your day in Hue. At 08:30, our guide will pick you up at your hotel in the city center. Around 09:00, arrive at La Chu Village and stop by the local market to explore daily life and fresh produce. Continue to Madam Thu Farm at 09:30, where you’ll join local farmers in harvesting fresh vegetables and listening to stories about their farming traditions. By 11:00, return to a cozy local house to relax with a traditional herbal foot bath, then take part in a hands-on cooking class to prepare authentic Hue dishes using farm-fresh ingredients. Your tour concludes around 14:00, followed by drop-off at your hotel at approximately 14:30 marking the end of a meaningful day filled with food, culture, and local connection.

Farm cooking class

We attended the Madam Thu farm cooking class and it was a great day! They had arranged the day very well and it was full of nice activities. Riding the bikes around the village and ricefields was really great experience. The cooking class included many tradiotional dishes and they tought us how to make them. Finally we got to enjoy our meal together at the farm. Hannah and other were so kind and helpful all day☺️ Would totally recommend🫶🏽

Highly recommend food tour

The farm-to-table experience was absolutely amazing — highly recommended for anyone wanting to connect with nature and enjoy cooking in a warm, home-style environment. Hannah, Tuyen and Lisa were fantastic! Hannah is incredibly helpful in explaining the farming practices at Madame Thu and also captured some beautiful photos of the day! Cooking on the country side

This was a perfect day! Riding on the motorbikes exchanging the busy Hue City for the lovely countryside. So nice and quiet. In La Chu Village we visited the local market and the organic farm. Picking our own vegetables needed for the cooking class. We learned how to cook a delicious lunch. Which really was the best I have tasted in Vietnam. A really enjoyable day with meeting nice and friendly people.

Mme Thu amazing tour

What an incredible experience we had with Mme Thu's family. First they pick you up at your hotel. Have some local salty coffee (must try). Then to the market outside of the city with authentic villagers. Then head to Mme Thu's own bio farm where you harvest your fresh herbs and salads! Amazing. And then cooking master class with family. Truelly special with the piano played by the young girl. Food was fantastic, by far the best yet in vietnam. Hospitaly at its best. Must try this !
