Great experience
Lovely evening with Zey as our guide. She was very informative and great fun. I would definitely recommend the Dervish ceremony and the restaurant we visited afterwards was fantastic!

We will be meeting in front of Sirkeci Train Station. After sharing our tour itinerary, we will try several street foods on the way to the historic dervish venue. There will be a very short walk to the dervish show and before the performance we will give you brief information about the background of 800-year-old dervish performance, which is also marked under Unesco heritage and one of the must things to do in Turkey. The dervish show duration will be 1 hour.

Following the dervish performance, our private transfer will take us to a 140-year-old kebab restaurant and we will taste the wonderful Turkish Food. Wonderful Turkish experience with a great guide!
Zey was a lovely guide, explaining so much about the traditional ceremony as well as the food when we had our Turkish feast after the performance. It was great to be able to ask her specific questions about the culture, the history and daily life in Istanbul. She also gave us fantastic tips and recommendations in writing for the rest of our time in Istanbul. I highly recommend this experience!

Traditional dervish
An unforgettable evening — the traditional dervish ceremony followed by an incredible dinner at a local restaurant. Zei was a perfect host, ordering different types of food for us to try and enjoy, including künefe for dessert. Her love of culture and food is infectious. Highly recommended!!

There are likely some mixed thoughts out there on seeing a dervish “show”, how can it be authentic if it is a paid performance? Watching the dervishes show their faith through music and movement was meditative and the meaning behind both was very interesting to follow. Learned something new!
