Discover the story behind Turkish Delight and learn how this iconic sweet has been made for centuries. Enjoy a guided cultural session where you watch each step of the lokum-making process, taste three different varieties, and explore its history from the Ottoman Palace to modern Istanbul. During the workshop you will see how the syrup is prepared, how starch is added, and how traditional lokum is shaped and coated. This is a hands-on learning experience, but the lokum made during the session is not consumed or taken home due to the required resting period. At the end of the experience, you will receive a special gift: a 200-gram box of classic Turkish Delight from Hacı Bekir, Istanbul’s oldest and most famous lokum maker (est. 1777). A perfect cultural activity for beginners, food lovers, and anyone curious about Istanbul’s sweet traditions.

A tasting delight

Jahan was brilliant! She was very clear with instructions and gave us a history of Turkish delight! She made great coffee and showed us how to eat and drink the Turkish way!!! We even got a free coffee drains fortune reading 🤣

Fun and sweets in Istanbul

Beyza was a wonderful teacher. We loved the whole experience and would do it again. Such fun had learning the history of Turkish Delight and getting to make some.

Marvelous cultural experience

Wonderful class that not only teaches you how to make Lokum or Turkish Delight. Its an immersion of history, culture and culinary art. Beyza was my teacher and she is phenomenal at what she does. She is highly knowledgeable & professional. She is extremely kind and patient. It was a pleasure learning from her. This is definitely a must try experience while you are in Istanbul.

Best turkish delight class

The class was amazing, we enjoyed everything, we cocked best turksih delight i ever eat. The class was organized, professional . The instructor Ms lina was very keen to make us learn, we got also turkish turkish deligh and coffee cups as gift 😍
