Uncork the secrets of traditional Tuscan wine in this hands-on class led by an expert sommelier. Learn the history of Tuscany's wine region, gain insight into its significant grapes, and then put your new knowledge to the test as you sample 6 wines that prove why the area is beloved worldwide for its vino. With a group of no more than 9, you embark on a personalized journey into the world of wine, traveling back in time to the 13th century. Learn about the origins of chianti, the region's most internationally renowned wine, and the strict rules that must be followed for it to retain its name. Begin with the dry and crisp Vernaccia white wine, and then move on to bolder reds. Swirl, sniff, and sip floral Chianti, jammy Montepulciano, the famous Brunello di Montalcino and Super Tuscan red—a modern take on traditional chianti. Along the way, your host shares tips for pairing each of these wines with food, leaving you able to drink wine like a pro by the end of class.

The event will take place in central Florence at Formaggioteca Terroir, a cheese shop with more than 50 selected cheeses. In 2023 Formaggioteca Terroir won Best Cheese Bar at the Italian Cheese Awards. Rebecca is a certified cheese taster (ONAF) and she'll meet you at Formaggioteca Terroir at noon. Rebecca will talk your through the Italian Cheese World with tales of many curious Italian cheeses, their history, and the various types. Learn what is characteristic of Italian cheese making. Finally, taste 5 different types of cheeses, made from different types of milk, different styles, and ages. You'll also taste 2 delicious wines with your cheese tasting. Please reserve around 1.5 hrs for this experience. This is the right experience for you if you enjoy learning and you're curious to learn and taste!

Great!

I did the Chianti Tradition tour and had a great time. Highly recommended you should do it! The tour staff were great and very friendly. Nice pours of wine and the food was also delicious. My only regret was that I couldn't bring back cases of the delicious wine to Canada! (Canadian customs taxes us to death - the wineries we visited are more than able and happy to ship to other more progressive countries).

Good Background on Tuscan Wines

If you are interested in a terrific educational experience concerning the wines of Tuscany, you should book the Tuscan wine tasting class at this school. Small participant size, very articulate teacher/sommelier and a good cross-section of wines from the area. You come away with a good background of the history of the wines as well as a chance to taste and contrast. Grape Tours Winter Wine Tour

We just completed a "once in a lifetime" tour of Italy yesterday, and I was so happy to get back to my computer so I could post this review! A great start to exploring Florence

We arrived in Florence a few hours before our class and found our way to the school. Our sommelier, Caterina, we very kind and easy to listen to, for a bunch of Americans lol. We very much enjoyed the history of the Tuscan wines and the lesson on how to taste the wines, most especially the lesson on how to make sure the wine is good to drink! We will spend the next 6 days exploring wines of Tuscany. We will be exploring other Tuscan towns so this info was prefect. Thank you so much.

"Wine Time!" = Fun Time

If you're looking for a Tuscan wine tasting experience, this is the tour for you! We had a fantastic time. Our guide, Caterina was super friendly, funny, and interesting. You'll learn the proper way to taste and impress your friends. The food was delicious, the scenery breathtaking. It was a fun way to spend a day. My only regret is I wish I purchased more wine to take home! Cheers.
