Over this two-hour food walk on the Croix-Rousse plateau, your sommelier shows you the neighbourhood the way a local lives it, you taste and you learn, rather than simply doing the tourist rounds.
You'll meet at the Gros Caillou for the panorama over the city, then cross Place de la Croix-Rousse and head down the Grande Rue, the old high street of what was once a village of its own. As you go, your sommelier talks you through each Lyon speciality at the very moment you taste it.
You'll pick your own charcuterie at the butcher's, try the famous pink praline at Maison Pralus, and choose a few cheeses at the cheesemonger's, slipping off the main street into the quiet lanes of the plateau along the way.
The experience ends at Cave Tabareau, with a proper wine-tasting workshop, you'll learn to look at, smell and taste a selection of Rhône Valley and local wines, to understand where they come from and how to pair them with your finds. You'll leave a real expert of France's gastronomic capital !
