+146 photosWe really enjoyed this experience at Micil. It’s a very small distillery in Galway with a delicious sampling of their gin, poitin (yum!), whiskey and that delicious Irish cream liqueur. We bought a bottle of each to take home! Marcus was a perfect host and explained the history and distilling process of each of the alcohols as well as the history of Micil. Thanks all!
If you’re visiting Galway, do yourself a favor and book a tasting experience at Micil Distillery with Ross! We had an absolute blast exploring the world of Irish spirits, especially trying Poitín and learning about its fascinating history. Ross made the entire experience fun, engaging, and memorable. His knowledge of Poitín and Irish whiskey was exceptional, and his passion for the craft and Ireland’s distilling heritage really shone through. This was the BEST tour! I've done several distillery, brewery or winery tours... our guide at Micil was great! She gave us so much information about the history of spirits in Ireland and Galway, very interesting and different than the North American story. The tastings were generous and our guide obliged one guest with a substitution when requested.
