Experience Details

Tuscany provides several wonderful opportunities to discover why its wines are so good - through our wine tasting and wine cellar tours. Undoubtedly, Chianti classico and the neighboring area of Chianti, just south of Florence, is one of the best known valleys and wine producing areas. Offering a wide selection of labels, production styles and recipes that exalt the Sangiovese grape which date all the way back to 1716 and beyond. Montepulciano enters into the zone of Vino Nobile. Pilgrims have been coming to Assisi, Italy since the 13th century to venerate St. Francis, who was born and buried here, but you don’t have to be religious to enjoy the beauty of this town. Framed by the long, undulating hills of Umbria, Assisi is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in the world and one of Italy’s most spell-binding gems. The entire town of Assisi is UNESCO World Heritage because of its plethora of art and historically significant buildings, like the Basilica di San Francesco.

The city, full of elegant Renaissance palaces, ancient churches, charming squares and hidden corners, boasts vast panoramas all over the wonderful Val d'Orcia and Val di Chiana valleys that surround it. Piazza Grande is the heart of Montepulciano and the setting for its main events, including the barrel-racing contest Bravio delle Botti, held in August every year and much more. Basilica Papale e Sacro Convento di San Francesco d'Assisi

Assisi, a medieval city built on a hill, is the birthplace of Saint Francis, closely associated with the work of the Franciscan Order. Its medieval art masterpieces, such as the Basilica of San Francesco and paintings by Cimabue and Giotto, have made Assisi a fundamental reference point for the development of Italian and European art and architecture. After Saint Francis and Saint Clare died, churches were built in their honor. The Church of Saint Francis, called the Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi, is famous as his burial place. It is also famous for the fresco paintings on the walls and ceilings. Many visitors go to Assisi on pilgrimage. Assisi is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 2000.
