In this hands-on Montreal cooking class, you’ll discover authentic Mauritian flavors and techniques passed down through John’s grandmother’s family recipes. Over the course of about an hour, learn how to prepare 1–2 traditional dishes such as Mauritian-style dim sum, dumplings, or spring rolls, while John shares stories about his heritage, the island’s rich blend of cultures and life in Canada. We had a wonderful evening with John and Monica — such a unique and personal experience right here in Montreal! It was incredibly special to be welcomed into their home, hear their stories, and learn about Mauritian culture (and of course, the food!). An amazing honeymoon trip!

Both of the Chungs were incredible people! We visited on our honeymoon and so appreciated the whole experience. We stayed extra long after dinner to just continue talking to them!! We so enjoyed our time and would strongly recommend anyone who is looking for this sort of experience to book now!

Delicious homecooked food made with love

An absolutely amazing experience and SUCH delicious food. John was incredibly kind and a very talented cook - he accommodated both a gluten free person and vegetarian and made the best tofu I have ever had. It was such a joy to talk with him and his daughter. He has such a passion for cooking and it was obvious from the taste of his food that he pours his heart into what he cooks. 10/10 would recommend.
