This tour isn't just a pub tour but a history tour also as we explore some of the most beautiful streets in Britain and some back lanes too and learn the incredible history whilst see some of the best sights in Britain including the castle, cathedral and much more.

Roman Fort (Pons Aelius) Foundations

The current Norman Castle is pretty much built next to and on the old Roman castle but we can still see some of the Roman foundations and ruins here... fitting given Hadrians Wall famously runs through Newcastle.

One of 3 cathedrals in Newcastle (many would say 4 if we include St James Park, home of the legendary Newcastle United) and there only cathedral in Britain named after St Nicholas the inspiration for Santa in the USA though over here we have Father Christmas instead.

Cloth Market

We will walk through the old cloth market. A street away is the old Groat or wheat market and the famous Bigg Market, originally for Barley. Barley is still much consumed here in its alcoholic form!
