It is one of the best ways to get into touch with the culinary of this town, important part of the intangible heritage of this town. It is a hands on experience and Teta Marjeta and the guide will make this an unforgettable experience for you?
Afternoon tea
Beverages
Gratuities
In this course we will teach you some special recipes of TetaMarjeta, a lady that loves cooking and will open her home for us . Led by your local guide, step inside Marjetas home, sip on a glass of raki produced by her husband or some of the delicious drinks she makes and try your hand a local recipe, using fresh, local ingredients. Then sit down to savor the fruits of your labor with your guide and Marjeta. Make your way to CercizTopulli square, to join up with the host and walk over to Marjeta. We begin the class with a glass of raki or a soft drink while chatting with your group mates. The food we are going to prepare is called Osa(kind of pasta combined with chicken). Another recipe will be the traditional “Qifqis” found only in Gjirokaster and consisting mainly on rice and also the desert called “Hasude”. All these three are accompanied by the salad of the season Marjeta has already prepared for you. After all the hard work, sit down with your group to savor each of your dishes. Pair your menu with a complimentary glass of wine, raki, or a soft drink and have a nice chat while you eat. In the end a recipe of what you have cooked will be given to you to prepare it back home!

Omg Teta is an absolute...

Omg Teta is an absolute Gem of a human being. Her kindness and love radiates throughout her and it is seen in her cooking. The outdoor patio where we cooked was so special and beautiful! It looked like something out of a story book. And the food we prepared together was SPECTACULAR. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone. It was perfection

Cooking class

My friends and I were guests of Marjeta for a cooking class typical of the city of Gjirokastër. Mrs. Marjeta was very kind and helpful. She had us cook the dinner that we would then eat. A very familiar and evocative experience. Her granddaughter was also there helping her sweet grandmother and left us some bracelets she made herself. It was a lovely moment. If you are passing through Gjirokastër and want to eat something typical yet homemade, stop by Mrs. Marjeta's.

Stirring Fun

Wonderful experience. We cooked a delicious traditional meal not found at a restaurant. Plenty of food and wine and beverage to fill your stomach. Beautiful balcony at Marjeta’s home. Well organized and great instructions for cooking. Highly recommend.

Super fun cooking class...

Super fun cooking class at Marieta house. Cooked three local dishes with wine and on a cute veranda with local ingredients. Everyone including our translator Besi were amazing and so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend for an overall awesome experience of food, culture and a good time.

Cosy, wonderful cooking class with our Albanian grandmother!

We had a wonderful experience at Marjeta’s. She told us, she was a chef in Gjirokaster in the past, so this makes the cooking even better! Due to this cooking class, we could enjoy some traditional food from the area. We strongly recommend this!!
