Restaurant Kichizaemon (吉佐衛門) is run by the 3rd generation owner of Iwamoto Meat Shop (岩元精肉店) established in 1922. For nearly 100 years, Iwamoto has supplied premium meat to hotels and restaurants in Kagoshima. Their products are held to a very high standard, with strict selection criteria. The chef started Restaurant Kichizaemon to showcase the exemplary quality of the ingredients, sourced directly from Iwamoto, so you can be assured that the Kagoshima kuroge wagyu and Kagoshima Kuro Buta are of the highest quality. During this private dining experience, you will have the entire restaurant to yourself. You have a choice of 3 main dishes: wagyu sukiyaki, pork shabu shabu, or wagyu steak (your choice of shoulder roast, tenderloin roast, or rib roast). Sukiyaki and shabu shabu are both types of Japanese hot pot, although sukiyaki is usually accompanied by raw beaten egg as a rich dipping sauce, and shabu shabu is enjoyed as more of a soup. Wagyu steak hardly needs an introduction, and is also a fantastic way to enjoy a beautifully marbled slab of domestic Japanese beef.
