Old San Juan

As you walk to your first tasting, take in the French and Spanish architecture, some of which is over 500 years old. Your guide will explain the history of the location. You'll also learn to make mofongo, a local dish made with fried plantains, and enjoy rice and beans, Puerto Rican rum, and a sweet dessert. Paseo de la Princesa (Pass By)

Paseo de la Princesa is a pedestrian promenade in San Juan, Puerto Rico, located in the city's historic district. The promenade is decorated with ornate lampposts and stretches for a quarter mile along the southern city walls of Old San Juan.

La Puerta de San Juan (Pass By)

LA PUERTA DE SAN JUAN is the last of the five gates that allow access into the walled city of Old San Juan. The vibrant red gate, which stands 16 feet tall and dates back to 1635, is located at the end of El Paseo de la Princesa, the historical promenade of San Juan.

Parque de las Palomas (Pass By)

The quaint park is as much a respite as it is for pigeons, who seem to also revel in the cobblestone charm of the old park.

Calle del Cristo (Pass By)

On the southern end of Calle del Cristo, the pigeon-filled Parque de las Palomas is in a tree-shaded cobblestone courtyard on the top of the city wall, with views of Bahía de San Juan and the crisscrossing water traffic that often includes city-sized cruise ships. Bird phobics should give it a wide berth.

Capilla del Santo Cristo de la Salud (Pass By)

Capilla del Cristo, also called Capilla del Santo Cristo de la Salud, is a small chapel/museum located in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. Built in the 18th century, saved from demolition in the 20th century and preserved, the structure has become a cultural symbol of Puerto Rico.

Catedral Basilica Menor de San Juan Bautista (Pass By)

The Cathedral of San Juan Bautista, or in English, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, is the Catholic cathedral of the Archdiocese of San Juan de Puerto Rico.

Plaza de Armas (Pass By)

Plaza de Armas San Juan is one of the main squares of San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico. It is located on San José Street in Old San Juan and was originally the city's main square. San Juan City Hall is located to the north of the plaza and the Puerto Rico Department of State is located to the west.
