O ponto mais ocidental da Europa Continental, o Cabo da Roca. Registos históricos apontam para a existência de um forte no Cabo da Roca no séc. XVII que teve um papel importante na vigia da entrada de Lisboa, formando uma linha defensiva ao longo da costa, sobretudo durante as Guerras Peninsulares. Atualmente existem apenas vestígios, para além do farol que continua a ser um ponto importante para a navegação.
