Experience Details

Sip Pomalo is a relaxed Croatian wine tasting in the heart of Old Town Split, created for people who want to discover what they genuinely enjoy—not simply be told what is “good.”

Across two unhurried hours, taste seven Croatian wines alongside a signature cold plate from Chops Grill. After a welcome sparkling wine, six wines are served in three side-by-side pairs: white beside white, rosé beside rosé, and red beside red. The format is simple: compare, contrast, and find the styles that suit your taste.

Your host has explored 100+ Croatian wineries and shares stories of the people, places, and wines behind the bottles. Each wine is from a winery she has visited, a winemaker she has met personally, or both.

You will leave with a better sense of what to order at dinner, which Croatian wines to look for, and perhaps a few new friends around the table.

Pomalo (poh-MAH-loh) is a Dalmatian expression meaning “take it easy.” There is no rush—just good wine, food, and conversation.

What You’ll Experience

Sip Pomalo is a relaxed, two-hour Croatian wine tasting in Split. Join a shared table for seven Croatian wines, a signature cold plate from Chops Grill, and stories behind the bottles—the perfect aperitivo before your Split evening begins. Start with a welcome glass of Croatian sparkling wine and meet your host and fellow guests. Taste six more Croatian wines in three side-by-side rounds. Compare different styles and discover what you enjoy. Every wine comes from a winery your host has visited, a winemaker she has met personally, or both. Hear stories about the people and places behind the bottles. Enjoy a signature cold plate from Chops Grill: traditional Dalmatian dried meats and local cheeses, served with fresh bread and seasonal condiments. Ask questions in a friendly, informal setting—whether this is your first Croatian wine tasting or you already love wine. Take home a simple guide to the wines and wineries, plus a Croatian grape comparison chart matching indigenous varieties with familiar international grapes. You will taste seven wines: one sparkling and six wines served in three comparative rounds. Wine and food selections may vary by season and availability.
