What You’ll Experience

1

Hobart

We'll take you through the heart of Tasmania's capital, showcasing its colonial heritage and vibrant culture. Highlights include the historic waterfront precinct of Salamanca Place, with its Georgian sandstone buildings and lively atmosphere, and a scenic drive past Battery Point, one of Hobart’s oldest neighborhoods, known for its charming cottages and narrow lanes. You'll also see the bustling Constitution Dock, where fishing boats and yachts line the harbor, and take in panoramic views of the River Derwent. We’ll pass by the grand Parliament House and the modern waterfront developments, blending old and new. The tour includes a short walk through the beautiful Cascade Gardens, where we’ll search the Hobart Rivulet for the elusive resident platypus in its natural habitat. Enjoy informative commentary throughout, rich with stories of Hobart’s history, convict roots, and natural wonders. A perfect introduction to this picturesque city!

Richmond

Richmond is a picturesque historic village located just 25 km from Hobart in the scenic Coal River Valley. Steeped in colonial history, the town is home to some of Australia’s oldest and most significant heritage sites. Highlights include the famous Richmond Bridge, built by convicts in 1825 and still in use today, as well as the Richmond Gaol, one of the country’s oldest intact prisons offering a glimpse into early colonial life. Wandering the village, you’ll find beautifully preserved Georgian buildings, antique shops, galleries, cafes, and charming cottages. Richmond is a step back in time.
