What distinguishes us is the authenticity and closeness of the experience. Instead of a massive or commercial tour, we offer an intimate encounter where the protagonist is real chocolate. The main difference is that you not only come to eat, but to understand the product : we teach you to read the labels and recognize quality cocoa so that, in the future, you know what you are buying. In addition, we move away from exaggerated scripts; we prefer an honest chat where we resolve your doubts while enjoying a drink prepared to your personal taste (hot or cold) in traditional clay containers. It is an authentic and delicious break in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Mexico City.
Cocoa and derivatives.
Private transportation
Learn the real taste of Oaxaca at CDMX We invite you to a talk and tasting focused on artisan chocolate from Oaxaca. Although we are in Mexico City, we bring the product directly from this region, famous for its chocolate tradition. The idea is to have a pleasant time learning to differentiate a commercial chocolate from an authentic and artisan one. What will we do during the activity? We will focus on testing and knowing the product in a simple way. During the session, we will try different varieties so that you will notice how the flavor changes according to the percentage of cocoa and sugar: • Pure cocoa (0% sugar): To know the natural flavor of the grain. • 70% cocoa bar : An intermediate point with a balanced taste. We will talk briefly about the origin of cocoa and how it is transformed into chocolate. We will use some typical clay pieces to serve, showing the everyday way it is enjoyed in Mexico, without complications. Your personalized drink Finally, we will prepare a cup of chocolate at the moment. You can choose whether you prefer hot or cold. It is a practical and real experience to know the richness of Mexican chocolate in a close and honest way.

An unforgettable chocolate experience in Mexico City

An absolutely exceptional chocolate experience in the heart of Mexico City at Chima Cacao. Everything about this workshop was superb, from the beautifully curated setting to the depth of knowledge and warmth of our host, Ruth. She was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and engaging, and more than happy to answer every question we had throughout the experience. We loved learning about the fascinating history of cacao, discovering the different varieties and preparation methods, and having the oppor...read more

Wonderful

Very beautiful experience. Ruth welcomed us into her home. She is really kind and offered us a very personalized experience. She briefly informed us about the history of cocoa. We were able to learn about and taste 6 different cocoa beans, but also several pieces of chocolate, and actively participate in the preparation of several hot chocolates chosen according to our tastes. The session ended with an excellent chocolate mousse. We had a good time and some great discussions. We recommend this a...read more
