South African Cultural Biltong-Making Experience in Cape Town

Join us in Cape Town for a biltong-making experience. Discover the art of meat selection, cutting, and seasoning while blending English and Afrikaans cultures. Enjoy folk music and moerkoffie!
Experience Details
In this hands-on demonstration, we'll teach you the basics of making your own biltong sticks - how to select your meat, cut, marinade, season, cure, and store it.
We offer vegans a surprisingly good alternative and bet you'll become addicted, too!
Find out how an English 'Soutie' like me married an Afrikaans 'Boeremeisie' and how we combine our distinct and different cultures.
Learn about the origin of the Afrikaans language (the only European language born in Africa!) We'll teach you a few expressions over a strong 'moerkoffie' served in a tin mug along with a piece of Soutie's homemade Karringmelkbeskuit.
We create a fun, relaxed atmosphere with Boeremusiek (folk music) and some catchy Afrikaans songs to showcase our rainbow nation's authentic, warmhearted hospitality.
Be prepared for tall tales, snippets of history, and a few classic Afrikaans sayings to spice up your conversations during this unique cultural experience.
