We start with a pickup of around 8pm, depending on the day, with our first stop at a ‘cafe notable’ (historical cafe/bar) . Here we’ll enjoy some traditional Argentine fare, including: - Picada (charcuterie - all cafe notables have a wide variety of plates to choose from) - Tortilla (this version of the frittata is originally an import of the Spanish immigrants) - Salad -to say we're 'eating healthy' :) - Perhaps a glass of the country’s most famous export - Malbec. Note: Food from the picada, tortilla, small plates, & salad menu, plus 1 drink at the cafe notable are included in the tour price. While enjoying all the tastes, you’ll learn the history & culture of tango: from its beginnings when early Eurpoean immigrants first arrived here - to its peak in the 40s when tango orchestras played as far as Hollywood - to going underground in the 70’s due to politics - to tango now, a blend of traditonal & ‘nuevo’ styles, as dancers from abroad influence Argentina’s signature dance
