Guided by specialists in Korean food and fermentation culture, you will explore multiple styles of traditional Korean alcohol, including makgeolli, yakju, takju, and soju. Each brew is introduced with careful explanation, allowing you to compare textures, aromas, flavors, and brewing methods while gaining insight into how ingredients, fermentation techniques, and regional environments influence the final character of each drink. What You’ll Experience

Bukchon Hanok Village (Pass By)

Bukchon Hanok Village is a place in Seoul where many old traditional houses are located. Walking through Bukchon, you will be able to see a variety of master's craft workshops and shops built on the traditional Korean house called "Hanok".

It is also naturally connected to the Brew Master's workshop where you can taste, learn and buy traditional alcohol. After finishing the Bukchon Walkiing tour, you will visit the workshop of the famous Korean woman brewer. Here, you will learn about the culture and basic contents of Korean traditional alcohol of two kinds of fermented rice wine called "takju(cloudy rice wine that is an original form of makgeolli)" and "yakju(cleared rice wine)." Then you can discover how to make soju from the distillation of yakju. You also can taste 4 different variations Korean Traditional Alcohol including Takju, Yakju, Mageolli and Soju. And you also learn drinking etiquette here.

Walk to Insadong, connected to Bukchon, and go to a very special Korean restaurant that makes food with special ingredients harvested from the tidal flats of Jeollanam-do, and enjoy over 15 different dishes with homemade makgeolli. This is a very high-level program where you can fully experience the culture of hospitality in Korea, where guests were treated with home-cooked food and alcohol in the past, away from commercial food.
