Discover how Turkish families bond over food, why slow-cooked dishes hold a special place at the dinner table, and the joy of sharing a homemade meal. More than a class, this is a warm, cultural exchange—filled with flavors, laughter, and meaningful connections.
Breakfast
If the experience is booked for 10am, it will be held as a breakfast, where you will learn how to cook Turkish breakfast dishes and prepare a proper Turkish breakfast.
Dinner
If the experience is booked for 5pm, it will be held as a dinner!
Step into the heart of Ankara’s local life with Sercan, a passionate home cook, devoted husband, and proud father. Instead of just visiting Anıtkabir or the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, experience the city through its flavors and traditions. In this authentic Turkish cooking class in central Ankara, you'll prepare classic homemade dishes just like a Turkish family does.
Using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, you'll learn to make dishes such as lahmacun (thin, crispy flatbread with spiced meat), hünkar beğendi (slow-cooked lamb over creamy eggplant purée), or karnıyarık (stuffed eggplant with minced meat and spices), guided by Sercan’s expertise. As you cook, he shares stories of Turkish food culture and daily life.
Finally, enjoy your homemade feast with Turkish tea or ayran, just as us, locals do. Whether you're a food lover, couple, or cultural traveler, this Turkish cooking class offers a genuine, hands-on taste of Ankara’s rich culinary traditions.

A highlight of our time in Turkiye
This experience lived up to and surpassed the description and is a highlight for our travels in Turkiye so far! Sercan and his lovely family were so welcoming, we learnt so much including how to make the delicious food, and enjoyed warm conversation in an intimate party of six that we will not forget. It was with genuine sadness that we parted ways - the invitation into someone’s home to share their world for an evening was a privilege and a delight.

One of the best experiences I've ever made
The cooking class with Sercan and his family was absolutely outstanding! He welcomed me into his home, showed me traditional Turkish delights and not only did I learn a lot about the culture, but also had an amazing evening and a lot of fun with him and his family. One of my highlights was the Teeleaf reading (Turkish Tea) and of course all of the amazing food we cooked together! I can only recommend visiting this cooking class if you're in Ankara. Best regards :)

Amazing experience, so worth it!!
This was by far one of the highlights of our trip. Sercan was such an amazing host and had picked a great selection of foods to cook together. We spent much more time at his house than we were expecting! It’s perfect if you’re looking for a fun, cozy experience where you can really enjoy the company of locals and have some delicious, authentic food. I highly highly recommend this experience!!!
