Good to Know

Welcome to my house! Discover Yucatecan gastronomy from scratch, starting with traditional ingredients and techniques. As a chef originally from Yucatán, I will accompany you throughout the process so that you cook and understand how each ingredient is transformed. During the class you will learn and participate in: - Nixtamal and Recado: Grind your own nixtamal and recado with traditional tools and discover how Yucatecan flavors are built. - Dough and Tortillas: Prepare the dough from scratch, learn to roll and get your tortillas to puff up on the griddle. - Yucatecan Pibil: Prepare the marinade, work with banana leaves, and discover the secrets of traditional pibil. - Sauces: Prepare Xnipec and sauces with roasted ingredients in a molcajete. - Sweet Touch: Prepare crispy homemade churros. - Intimate experience: Cooking in my home, in a comfortable and private space, with a maximum of 4 people. In the end, we will enjoy together everything we prepared from scratch.

Experience a private, authentic, and intimate gastronomic experience in the kitchen of our home in Tulum. As a chef originally from the Yucatán Peninsula, I will open the doors of my studio to guide you step by step in discovering the secrets and traditional techniques of my land's cuisine. Unlike commercial or mass classes, this is a private author session designed for small groups where detail and interaction are the protagonists. We will use fresh local ingredients and traditional tools to prepare a feast full of flavor, from the sauces to the dessert. At the end of the preparation, we will sit together at the table in a warm and relaxed atmosphere to enjoy everything that has been cooked, accompanied by house drinks and great conversations.

Cooking Class

This was the best class we have been to in Tulum. We have been to a total of three classes so far and I can say that this was a phenomenal experience. All the food is cooked and made from scratch so be prepared to spend 3-4 hours preparing, drinking margaritas (made fresh in house), and cooking. Thank you for an amazing experience.

C'était un moment unique. Jair nous a partagé bien plus qu'un cours de cuisine mais bien tout un morceau de culture et d'histoire. Jair et son équipe sont très genereux et partagent de nombreuses informations et recomendations ! Un très beau moment d'échange autour de la gastronomie !
