Sencha is a popular type of high-grade Japanese tea, made from the top leaves of the tea plant. Meanwhile, gyokuro is the most premium grade of green tea in Japan, grown only in highly-specific conditions, shaded from the sun. As a result of this tender care, gyokuro (literally “jewel dew” or “jade dew”) develops a mild sweetness and aroma.
