Hand Pulled Yuzu Miso Somen Instant Noodles - 6 pcs.

A new and attractive packaging design has been added to Tomiya Shoten’s Unohana noodle line. These udon noodles are packaged in an originally designed rice bag with a compact and cute appearance, making for a great gift item. 

The classic, traditional Inaniwa udon noodles produced by Tomiya Shoten are well-regarded for their firm texture and chewiness. Although these Unohana noodles are finer, they still retain the characteristics of the original Inaniwa noodles, while being even more versatile and easy to eat. 

In addition to serving it like regular udon, Unohana noodles can be served like porridge, added to salad, or mixed with mayo and other ingredients to make macaroni salad. If soft-boiled, Inaniwa Udon noodles can be served to babies, the elderly, and those who have difficulty eating long noodles.

How to Cook Unohana Noodles:
Put the noodles into boiling water and cool them for about 4 minutes, stirring them to prevent them from sticking together. Quickly drain them in a colander and rinse them under running water to cool them down.

How to Serve:
Ladle the noodles in a bowl, pour your favorite sauce on top, and serve with a spoon. Condiments like mitsuba leaves and chopped leeks also go well with the noodles. For adults, grated ginger can also be added.

Inaniwa udon is one of the three most famous udon noodles in Japan, and is characterized by its firmness and smooth texture. It is a specialty of Yuzawa City, Akita Prefecture, with a history dating back to 400 years ago.
It is said that the feudal lord of the Inaniwa area (now Yuzawa City), which was a production center of high-quality wheat, had the villagers produce udon. In the mid-1700s, the udon was valued as a gift for the feudal lord. Even after the Meiji period (1868-1912), Inaniwa udon continued to be delivered to the Imperial Household Agency and is known as the most expensive udon in Japan.

Setsugetsuka is a Junmai Daiginjo proudly presented by Ryozeki Shuzo in Yuzawa City, Akita Prefecture. This Junmai Daiginjo is brewed using Ryozeki's unique low-temperature, long-term brewing method, pursuing a delicate aroma and a smoother finish.
It was awarded the highest gold medal at the IWSC, the world's premier international sake competition, and first place in the National Sake Competition. It was also the winner of the Gold Prize in the Daiginjo category at the Delicious Sake in a Wine Glass Awards 2018.

Akita, the prefecture known as the “land of rice and sake”, is a kingdom of nihonshu, with many famous breweries in Akita Prefecture producing mellow, delicious sake. Ryozeki Brewery has won numerous awards throughout the Meiji, Taisho, Showa, and Heisei eras. In more recent years, they’ve placed first in the Junmai category at the 2006 National Sake Competition for Ryozeki Yamahai Special Junmai Sake, and in 2006 Ryozeki Junmai Daiginjo Setsugetsuka won the Gold Award at the IWSC (excluding beer), the largest and most authoritative sake evaluation competition in Europe, held in the UK. IN 2007 Ryozeki Junmai Daiginjyo Setsugetsuka won the most prestigious Gold Award. Ryozeki's five breweries, from No. 1 to No. 5, were the first in Akita Prefecture to be designated as registered tangible cultural properties. The brewery has a commitment to producing high-quality nihonshu for both the development of the region, and for the harmony and joy of the people.

Reiwa is a Junmai Ginjo that was first sold as a private brand product of Tomiya Shoten in May of the first year of Reiwa (2019). It was released as a celebration of the beginning of a new era, and as an expression of happy feelings.

Junmai Ginjo "Reiwa" has a good balance of umami and acidity, and is a sake that goes well with all kinds of dishes. The taste is even more pronounced when served cold.

Inaniwa udon is a specialty of Yuzawa City, Akita Prefecture, which has a history dating back 400 years, when it was given as an offering to the feudal lord of the Inaniwa area. Today, the noodles are still highly prized, and are considered the most expensive and high-quality udon in Japan, having also been regularly delivered to the Imperial household.

Tomiya Shoten has been planning and selling original Inaniwa udon since the late Showa period, and their product has been well-received by customers for its firmness and smoothness.

Akita Brewery was established in Yuzawa City, considered the most suitable place for sake brewing due to the availability of high-quality rice, abundant water, and optimal climate. In 1922, a group of major sake brewers, political and financial figures, and other volunteers gathered in Akita prefecture to promote the mellow and deep taste of Akita's sake throughout the country. There, in Yuzawa City, Akita Brewery was formed.
